Although it comes off paternalistic in sections—it was published by the French Protectorate with the intention of selling Moroccan rugs in France—it is energetically written, has lots of info about the tribes and terroirs of Morocco, and Ricard has an obvious love of the rugs. It is a very rare book that I paid $100 dollars for, and has a glaring typo right on the cover. I love it.
While the tradition behind the Moroccan Wedding Blanket can seem archaic to a lot of Westerners, they have a rich history, and look great in your home.
I am pleased to announce that for the next two months, we have an amazing selection of Moroccan rugs in a beautiful space in Old Montreal. We have partnered with élément de base and d'Armes Luminaires, two amazing companies from Montreal whom we love.
